Velvet Lane is an adult dance brand based in South Wales, creating dance experiences that are welcoming, confidence-building and genuinely fun.
At VL Dance, we believe dance should feel good; a positive way to move your body, support your mental wellbeing and build confidence.... and that it should be accessible to everyone.
Whether you’re here to try something new, celebrate something special, grow your technique and confidence, or return to dance after time away, Velvet Lane is a space where you can move, enjoy yourself and feel comfortable being you.
WHAT WE DO
At VL Dance, we create a wide range of adult dance experiences - from weekly studio classes to one-off events and bespoke bookings.
Our work includes inclusive adult dance classes, hen party dance experiences, wedding first dance choreography, private lessons, bespoke workshops, corporate sessions and professional event entertainment. We also provide dancers and promotional crew members for events, launches and special occasions.
Some experiences are high-energy and celebratory, others are focused on confidence, connection or skill development - but every session is thoughtfully planned, guided and tailored to the people taking part.
WHO IT'S FOR
VL Dance is for adults of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels.
We offer beginner classes for those who are new to dance, alongside advanced classes for dancers who trained previously. Whether you’re returning to the studio after time away or actively dancing now and looking to develop your technique and confidence, you’ll find the right space here.
Velvet Lane also works with people who may not be looking for regular classes at all — from hen parties and wedding first dances to private lessons, bespoke workshops, corporate sessions and one-off bookings. Many of our clients are doing something completely new, while others are reconnecting with dance in a different way, for a specific moment or event.

OUR APPROACH
At VL Dance, everything we do is guided, supportive and thoughtfully structured.
We know that stepping into a dance space as an adult can feel daunting - whether you’re new to dance, returning after time away, or taking part in something special like a first dance or group booking. That’s why we focus on creating an environment where people feel relaxed, safe and supported from the moment they arrive.
There’s no pressure to perform and no expectation to be perfect. Classes and experiences are carefully planned, with clear guidance and the flexibility to adapt to the people in the room, so everyone can move, learn and enjoy the process at their own pace.
Whether we’re teaching a regular class, choreographing a first dance, leading a hen party, or delivering a bespoke workshop or corporate session, our aim is always the same: to create a positive experience that leaves people feeling more confident than when they arrived.
OUR EXPERIENCE
WHERE WE'RE BASED
Velvet Lane was created by dancers with backgrounds in professional performance, choreography, teaching and event management.
That combined experience means we understand both the creative and practical sides of what we do — from leading supportive adult classes to choreographing first dances, delivering polished event entertainment and running smooth, well-organised bookings.
Everything is approached with care, professionalism and attention to detail, while still keeping the experience warm, friendly and enjoyable.
Velvet Lane is based in South Wales, working across the region with sessions in Swansea, Cardiff and beyond.
Our work takes place in studios, private venues and on location, depending on the experience — from regular adult dance classes and first dances to hen parties, corporate sessions, events and providing dancers for bookings, as well as bespoke workshops.
